My Hero Academia depicts a world where superheroes are everywhere, and they are always looking to train a new intern or successor to keep up the fight against evil. Some heroes are more interested in coaching rookies than others, and heroes such as the great All Might can afford to be picky about whom they train. Not just anyone is worthy of being All Might’s student.

In the original story, All Might’s successor and student was Izuku Midoriya himself, and this is how Izuku obtained One For All. But what would happen if All Might could take on students from other anime realms as well, whether or not those students end up with One For All? It’s time to find the next symbol of peace.
10 WOULD TRAIN: Tanjiro Kamado Has Grit & A Heart Of Gold (Demon Slayer)
Tanjiro Kamado is a good-hearted demon slayer who is practically incapable of hate or malice, with one exception: Muzan Kibutsuji. Tanjiro is determined to slay Muzan without mercy, but aside from that, Tanjiro is compassionate and brave in battle, and that’s just what All Might wants in a student.
It also helps that Tanjiro has the guts to endure any training regimen possible, and Tanjiro’s two-year training sequence put even Izuku’s to shame. All Might would love to cultivate Tanjiro’s talents as a fighter.
9 GIVE UP ON: Sasuke Uchiha Has Too Much Hate (Naruto)
At first, All Might would enjoy training a highly talented and disciplined student such as Sasuke Uchiha, but problems would soon emerge. Ideologically, All Might and Sasuke are simply too different, and All Might would soon become concerned that he is training a future supervillain.
Sasuke is driven by hatred and spite, first toward his brother Itachi, then the Leaf Village, which had seen fit to destroy the entire Uchiha Clan. Sasuke would also think All Might is weak for fearing darker powers, such as the Mangekyo Sharingan and the curse mark. This isn’t going to work out.
8 WOULD TRAIN: Jonathan Joestar Is A Classic Hero (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)
Some shonen heroes are complicated antiheroes with a lot of baggage, while others are straightforward and noble, such as Jonathan Joestar, the hero of the Phantom Blood story arc. Jonathan is a well-built fellow whose heart burns for justice, and he will stand up to any evil that threatens his friends and family, even Dio Brando, his foster brother.

Jonathan learned well at the hands of Baron Zeppeli, and he is a cooperative and hardworking martial arts student. All Might would have no problems putting Jonathan through a strict training regimen, and he’d appreciate Jonathan’s heroic spirit, too.
7 GIVE UP ON: Annie Leonheart Isn’t Trying To Become A Great Hero (Attack On Titan)
Many anime characters have the physical abilities necessary to undergo some training with All Might, but their attitude or goals will create some problems. Annie Leonhart, for example, is a warrior of the Marley Empire, and she helped Reiner and Bertholdt assault Paradis Island at one point.
However, Annie is not loyal to the Marley Empire or her ethnic Eldian kin. Instead, she simply wants to live a quiet life with her foster father, and will coldly destroy or kill anything in her way. All Might has no time for a troublesome student like this.
6 WOULD TRAIN: Elfman Strauss Isn’t Afraid To Go Plus Ultra
Although no one ever actually says “Plus ultra!” in the Fairy Tail world, characters such as the mighty Elfman Strauss certainly would if they were ever inspired by seeing All Might in action. Elfman Strauss would implore All Might to train him, and All Might would likely say yes.
RELATED: 5 Anime Characters Batman Would Train as Robin (& 5 He’d Reject)
Elfman Strauss can use Take Over magic to partially or completely turn into a beast, and his physical combat skills are remarkable, as is his endurance. That, combined with his “never say die” attitude, would allow him to live up to All Might’s expectations as a student.
5 GIVE UP ON: Thorkell Has Heroic Strength, But Not Heroic Purpose (Vinland Saga)
Many anime characters have a great deal of strength and expertise as fighters but lack an ideal purpose for all that power. Thorkell the Viking is an example of that. He is more or less a villain, deriving maniacal pleasure and glee from slashing apart his enemies in battle. If he’s not fighting, then he’s drinking and talking about fighting.
Thorkell knows what he’s doing, but he never came up with a good reason for it, aside from “I love fighting.” All Might would be deeply troubled, and even if Thorkell promised to be an obedient student, All Might would refuse to teach him a thing. Nothing about Thorkell is Plus Ultra.
4 WOULD TRAIN: Yuji Itadori Has Strength & Noble Purpose (Jujutsu Kaisen)
Yuji Itadori is the newest sorcerer on the block, and he is making up for lost time. He had a great deal of strength and agility even before swallowing Sukuna’s fingers and becoming a cursed energy wielder, and after some training, he has become truly remarkable.

Yuji is a melee powerhouse, but more importantly, his heart is in the right place, too. Yuji is kind and compassionate, and easily makes friends, such as poor Jinpei. Unlike most other sorcerers, Yuji isn’t controlled by his negative emotions, and he strives to save everyone, no matter the odds. Now that’s Plus Ultra, and All Might would gladly coach him.
3 GIVE UP ON: Darkness Would Rather Be Beaten Up By Villains (Konosuba)
The crusader known as Darkness would make a good impression on All Might at first, being a noble and heroic young woman who wants to stand up to evil with her hardened armor and unbreakable spirit. So far, so good, but then All Might would stumble upon Darkness’ personality quirks.
Darkness allows her enemies to attack her, and it completely distracts her from actually trying to win a fight. It also doesn’t help that Darkness has terrible aim with her sword swings, and her punches and kicks are probably no better.
2 WOULD TRAIN: Avatar Korra Is A Reckless, Headstrong Avatar (The Legend Of Korra)
It’s true that Avatar Korra’s impatient, reckless ways would make her a difficult student at first, and Tenzin the Airbender would know all about that. However, Korra simply needs a teacher who understands her, and she genuinely wants to become a great hero whom everyone can rely on to save the day. A good avatar is absolutely a symbol of peace.
All Might would be taken aback by Korra’s attitude at first, but he wouldn’t give up on her. He would see the good in her, and figure out a way to nurture Korra’s combat skills and heroic image alike. Some way or other, All Might would get through to her, perhaps by demonstrating how he operates as a pro hero. Korra would be eager to emulate him, inspired by his actions and power.
1 GIVE UP ON: Valac Clara Just Wants To Goof Off (Welcome To Demon School, Iruma-Kun!)
All Might wouldn’t train Valac Clara one-on-one as mentor and apprentice. Rather, he would meet her if he was a substitute teacher at Babyls, disguised as a demon. All Might would have fun coaching P.E. classes there, but some students would appeal to him more than others. Demon dodgeball is going to be a real headache.
Valac Clara always means well, but she is also a total goofball and is at the total mercy of her creative whims, most of which involve food, rolling around, or playing with Iruma. All Might would try in vain to get Clara to do some proper exercise or play sports, but there’d be no real way to get through to her, so All Might would move on to other students before long.
