The Maui Police Department received confirmation on Saturday that an employee who works out of the Wailuku District has tested positive for COVID-19.
MPD said that the employee was asymptomatic and their last working shift was on Wednesday. The employee is isolating at home and will remain in isolation until cleared by the state Department of Health.
All common areas in the police station were professionally disinfected and sanitized on Friday, MPD said.
Personnel that worked in close contact with the employee were tested, and their tests returned negative.
