The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported on Tuesday 6,313 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 29 new deaths from a four-day period spanning Labor Day weekend.
The cases average to 1,578.25 per day. Among the 29 deaths, 10 were identified from a vital records search.
The state has reported 961,953 confirmed and 115,918 probable cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, for a cumulative total of 1,077,871, and 20,396 confirmed and 1,308 probable deaths, for a cumulative total of 21,704.

The state reported 28,982 test results from Thursday, the last day testing data is available from, with 2,946 positive results, a test positivity rate of 10.16%.
