Massachusetts Reports 2,096 New COVID-19 Cases, 18 Additional Deaths – CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 2,096 new confirmed COVID cases and 18 additional deaths in the state on Thursday.

Health officials said the total number of confirmed cases in the state is now 723,633. The total number of confirmed deaths is now 17,954.

There were 84,745 total new tests reported.

As of Thursday, the seven-day weighted average of positive tests in Massachusetts is 2.48%.

There are 622 people currently hospitalized for a coronavirus-related illness.

There are also 166 patients currently in intensive care.
